Nature Inspired Fashion Show – Last Fitting & Rehearsals

As mentioned yesterday we had our last fittings last night.  Yes, the clothes are amazing and the designers are really creative.
Sunstone is an amazing collection of knitwear, which in my opinion is the new “in” thing.  Usually when you hear knitwear you think about big slumpy grandma tops, but take my word for it, I’m wearing a stunning Red dress which makes me feel super sexy.
Ali Unlimited’s range is very relaxed and cotton inspired.  Although you hear the word cotton the clothing takes on your body’s shape and accentuates your form, in the nicest possible way.  She also has a range of jewellery which I am blessed to wear for the fashion show.  Each piece is hand crafted and amazingly interesting.
Bennett & Co has a unique and wide range of belts, handbags and shoes (ooo yes, the one thing most women can not stay away from).  The 2 ladies’ range is amazing and the shoes are extremely comfortable, it does not feel like your wearing heels.   They have unique belts and great big sling back bags.
All that’s left before the big day is tonight’s rehearsal and the Media Launch on Friday.

SA Fashion Week – Bits & Bobs

Nature Inspired Fashion Show – Last Fittings

Tonight’s our last fittings for the Nature Inspired Fashion Show.  I’m soo excited because I’ve been updated that there are a few surprises and supremely cute outfits waiting for us!  As always here’s a little sneak peak…. But definitely pop in tomorrow for more sneaky pics only on my blog!!

SA Fashion Week – Elle New Talent Winner

After hours of judging the winner of the 2011 Elle New Talent Winner in association with Mr. Price was announced to the world as Kelly Esterhuyse.
Kelly’s unique style showed us a range of textures with the main feel being hand-crafted mohair.  The range was inspired by the human skeleton with a fresh and edgy feel to it.

Shocked that she won here is what Kelly had to say when her name was called as the winner:  I was SHOCKED! It just didn’t feel real when my name was called out. The first thing that came to mind was ‘is this really happening?’ It felt like one of my lifelong dreams had come true. This is something every young designer aspires towards achieving.”
Congrats Miss Esterhuyse, I definitely hope to see a lot more from you in the future!

SA Fashion Week – 031

Mr. Price has collaborated with some of SA’s most faboush, freshest designers to create a unique range called 031.  Yes this collection is absolutely amazing and since it hit the shelfs (on 26 September 2011), I’ve been a frequent visitor to the 031 section in Mr. Price and I can proudly say that I’m the owner of some of these amazing clothing items.
The 031 collection was inspired by the 70’s and bohemian lifestyle and for Fashion Week it was styled by non-other than Miss Bohemian herself, model Agyness Deyn.
Herewith some words form the senior fashion editor Poppy Evans:  Although this range is seventies inspired it is also incredibly modern; I absolutely love the cropped tee’s in the styling mix and the hints of rust and warm colours are amazing. I think people underestimate how flattering flowing silhouettes can be. I love the colour palette of the collection – the earthy hues of red, orange, pink and brown are the perfect antidote to fashions current obsession with super brights and colour blocking. There are so many different ways of accessing seventies inspired styling, but this bohemian, eclectic range has a sense of romance and a carefree spirit which, really, was the attitude of the era, and thus my favourite way to wear it.”
