Cute Outdoor Feature

These garlands are the perfect outdoor feature to create that special feel in your garden.  Choose your favourite one, use your old material cut-offs and create something different that will allow your guests to go:  “Where did you get that?” when they next have tea in your garden.

Table Settings

When setting your dinner table most of us make sure we have matching dishes, knives, forks and the usual role call.  But by adding a little tweak of colour or a touch of detail makes all the difference.
See how this ordinary white setting gets some life with a touch of green.
A coloured glass and this beautiful tablecloth give’s you the feeling of the sunset over the ocean.
Little card with your guest’s name on creates the detail that we all deserve.

Interesting Wall

How different yet amazing is this wall?  As soon as I saw it I had to share it with you all.  It makes a beautiful feature you of an ordinary wall.

Vintage and my Cleo

I decided to mix my Cleo Droomer’s with a little Vintage.  The belt is my Vintage Woolies belt and Jacket is one I got from my mom, she wore it when she was my age, that’s about 25 years ago.  The cute pooch next to me is Herbie, sweetest pug in the world!

Kings of Leon

How I can kick myself for not going to Kings of Leon in Cape Town, let me count the ways!  Just want everyone who went to know, I officially hate you now.  Hehehe!  Just kidding, I just like you less than normal.

Vintage Favourites

This week’s Vintage favourites have a little touch from the local farm we visited in Wittedrift, Vryheid (Freedom).  I hope you like these as much as I do.
1)  Vintage Cupboard – Reminds me of the cupboard in Narnia
2)  Painting & Frame
3)  Glass Coke bottles and crate – I know you still get these but you they’re not the easiest to find and Coke used to make these before they came out in tins
4)  Assortment of Vintage Crayons
5)  Campbell’s advert from way back in the day – wish I had a Campbell’s bag like that

Gwaing River Mouth

Don’t you think it’s beautiful.  I was lucky enough to spend some time there this weekend and I could not let the rest of you not know how beautiful it is.  All I can say is WOW!

Jean Paul Gaultier Gold Bars

With the world in recession many people have decided to invest in gold.  Well with me who has a big love for fashion what better gold to buy than Jean Paul Gaultier gold bars?  CPoR, French Gold Investment company, has asked JPG to design them a unique gold bar.
To own a JPG Gold Bar you’ll only pay $1680 for a 25-carat bar engraved with a tattoo styled Jean Paul Galtier name over a heart.

Protea Stool

How amaze is this Protea Stool?  It is so amazing that Elle Décor have chosen it as one of the finalists for the Elle Decoration Solve New Talent Search in association with Boardmans – 2011.
Once again student at Design Time Institute of Interior Design, Ruben Rossouw has mesmerized us with his unique talent.  The competition received close to 200 entries and Ruben was selected as one of the best.
Ruben states the following:  “Growing up in South Africa one is constantly reminded of the natural beauty of our country, I was therefor inspired by our national flower, the Protea.  My design portrays the abstract form of the flower and its natural characteristics.”
Congrats Mr. Rossouw, I truly hope you win as I’d love to buy one of those for myself.

I know I’ve shared this with you but here’s another super cute photo of Eugene (www.geneluke.blogspot.com) and myself with our big hats.  My favourite summer item for this year.

Beautiful Wittedrift

This weekend we went to an amazing farm in Wittedrift, just outside Plett, called Vryheid (Freedom, for all you non-Afrikaans speaking people).  We had so much fun and it was very relaxing except for the rooster waking us up at 6h30.  Hehe!

Vintage Favourites

Another Vintage Thursday… yay!  Next week I’ll be showing you some of my personal vintage favourites I have at home.
1.  Asteral Alarm Clock – do not ask me why I am soo obsessed with old clocks, they’re a magnet and I’m drawn to them it seems
2.  Vintage Flower Trimmed Mirror
3.  Bermuda one for me belt from Modcloth
4.  Very vintage typewriter
5.  Blue buttons

Hair Trend

The latest hair trend which was sported at Fashion Week by several big designers like Luca Luca, Rochas and YSL is a big hit.
The big question everyone obviously has is:  “how can I get the look?”
1.  Make a side parting and spray your hair liberally with hairspray.
2.  Comb your hair back and down as if you’re going to make a low ponytail.  Then roll all the hair around a long bendy roller and bend both ends of the roller up to form a horseshoe.
3.  Use bobby pins to secure all the hair and tuck in loose ends.  Spray your whole head with hairspray to finish.
